I hear this all the time, “Carbs are bad, I’m putting weight on because I eat carbs!!!” So the first question is, what are carbs? Carbohydrates are the sugars, starches and fibres found in fruits, grains, vegetables and milk products, simple!
So do we need carbs? YESYES AND YES, they are a macronutrient, which is one of your three main ways that the body obtains energy, or calories. Carbs are the bodies MAIN SOURCE of ENERGY, so pretty important if you are training hard. This is what is fuelling your workouts, allowing you to walk around, letting your body function correctly!
So this brings me back to the original question, are carbs bad? In short, NO. What is wrong is eating too many of them, therefore putting yourself in a CALORIE EXCESS (to much food for you)
