This is a classic mistake; I had a conversation the other day with someone in the gym and they actually thought that when you eat something fatty it turns into body fat near enough straight away?? (I think they had had a McDonalds and feeling guilty)
So Fats are another macronutrient, one of our main 3. Dietary fat is the macronutrient that can most easily increase your body fat. It requires the least energy to digest, relative to the energy it provides and it gets stored with 90-95%!! Damn you Fats.
But don’t start worrying now that every crumb of fat you put into your mouth turns into love handles!! It is still about how many calories you eat on a daily basis, if you eat too many you will put more body fat on, aiding the fatty foods to store more efficiently!! If you eat the correct amount, you will stay the same. If you eat in a deficit you will lose body fat!!
